Create your own rubber stamps - at home!
I had seen this kit a couple of years ago and had been wanting it since then. Well, I finally got it. It is a kit that lets me make four different rubber stamps, right at home. I don't have to special order them anywhere, or send out for them. I just make them myself...whenever I want.
It normally runs for $49.99 and comes with everything you need, including the blacklight. You can even buy refills for the kit, so, if I wanted to make 10 of the same stamp, I could. Well, Jo-Ann Fabrics had one of their 50% off coupons and I decided to use it on this :-)
Now...if I could just decide WHAT kind of stamps to make...
any suggestions???

Memory Boutique
Have you seen these?
I popped into Jo-Anne’s Fabric the other day to use my stack 40% off coupons before they expired and was shocked to find this new line of goodies that I *had* to have. This stuff is gorgeous!
Memory Boutique by Colorbok
Patterned Paper
Specialty Paper (vellums, glitter, embossed)
Rub-ons
Die cuts
Alphabets
Chipboard
There was a huge selection in this line and I obviously couldn’t get the *entire* line at one time (don’t think I didn’t want to!) There were large decorated chipboard pieces, 8x8 paper pads, 6x6 paper pads, and tons more. As it was~ they let me use 3 of the 40% off coupons on 3 of the items :-)
The alpha and graphic rub-ons ($9.99) each came in their own sturdy storage box, decorated with papers from the same line.
Each of the 12x12 paper pads and die cuts were either $9.99 or $11.99. There were 20 sheets in the Specialty Papers and 50 sheets in the patterned/solid pack. The die cuts package had 24 sheets stuffed with alphabets, frames, tags, folders, tabs and words.
I am going to have so much fun with this line!
Note: I noticed Colorbok also has an entire “one dollar” line at Jo-Anne’s now.

Kodak Paper for life, lol!
I think I have enough paper to last quite a while! (Well at $2 for 100 4x6 sheets who can blame me?)
I now have 4x6, 8.5x11 and 11x17. Yeah! I think a few are these are going to be given to some friends and family members. I have plenty.
I played with my 11x17 sheets and printed out a few of my floral photographs on them…beautiful! I see personalized wall art for my new craft room/studio.
hmmmm…giant colorful photos…digital scrapbook layouts in 11x17…on the wall…i think I'm going to have some fun with these...hmmmmm :-)
$300 later or $95 now hmmmmmmm?
Fast forward to me needing a giant work table or counter top for my new craft room and not having the full amount to buy it new at Home Depot right this very minute.
I was trying to decide on whether to just get some cheap folding tables to get me by and then having to spend more money later to get the counter and bases…or… waiting until about 2 months from now to blow the $300+ on the new stuff I wanted and living with piles of boxes until then.
Well, I couldn’t stand it any longer. I needed something to work on NOW. I am feeling restricted and held back. I need a place to create. I have been searching for months for that perfect set up for my new craft room. I knew the prices of just about every option that would work and a few dream scenarios as well :-)
I needed to be sturdy.
It needed to be (or add up to) 10 feet long.
It needed to not go up very high (as in a hutch because I have beautiful white metal pegboards that are going up on the wall above the work area.)
It needed to have room underneath to store additional supplies.
It needed to be a lot of things. I am trying to 2500sqft of supplies in a 10x10 foot room, lol
The kitchen countertop and bases were my first choice.
2 large, 5 foot desks with straight legs and nothing underneath them was my second choice.
I was doing a search on the internet for 5foot tables and came across one on the New Orleans Craigslist. So, I thought, why not look.
After wading thru tons of listings, I found a couple of things that might have been a possibility. Then, I found them…3 base units for the countertop at $75 for the trio. These were $69.80 each at Home depot right now. The counter is $89.99.
I emailed the guy and asked a few questions, he answered back and then I had to break the news to my SO that his last day off was going to have to be spent driving out to take a look at these cabinets. It didn’t go over well as he has already placed an embargo on the house and I wasn’t allowed to bring anything else in. I don’t think he was getting the fact, that this was going to get rid of the piles of boxes. I have no where to organize or store my scrapbooking, rubber stamping, paper making, book making, book binding, altered books, photography, metalsmithing, sewing and various other craft items right now…much less anywhere to work on them.
We borrowed my parents van and went out there. The maple cabinets looked brand new. Come to find out, he hadn’t actually used them for anything other than a place to set a countertop to hold his computer.
And Oh-by-the-way the 10 foot countertop was for sale as well. He wanted $20 for it.
My, until this time very grouchy and uncooperative SO, surprised me and said ok and handed him the cash. They loaded it up and off we went. I was still kind of in shock and somewhat delirious at the same time (the heat could have had something to do with it too ;-) I had just gotten the optimum set-up for my craft room for $95, instead of $300. (granted the counter was that nasty grey fleck stuff instead of white, but at this point I really didn’t care, maybe it can be painted?)
Hmmmmmmmmm… Craigslist.org might not be such a bad place after all…
A few notes about dealing with people on craigslist:
Always deal in a cash only basis.
Make sure you see and inspect the actual item, before you buy it.
Always bring a buddy, don't meet someone alone.
Go in the daytime, not in the dark. This should be common sense.
It's much better to deal locally only, this is what Craigslist was intended for. There are other sites that cater to selling and shipping things all over the world like eBay.

OOOh I am *SO* Drooling over this table!
I love metal. I really love enameled or painted metal. This is one of the most beautiful and functional tables I have ever seen! The outside is one color and the inside/underside can be a totally different color. WOW!
I might have to throw the whole "get a good deal" out the window for this one. I think I am in love. *sigh*
This is made by http://www.contraforma.lt/
It is also sold by http://www.ona.com/en/products/55/

Paper Organization
I needed several of these Cropper Hopper verticle paper organizers and this is the best price I could find online in the USA. They were only $3.91 each. (my local stores sell them - when they have them - for $6.99 each.)
They have a $5.99 flat rate shipping price (and that includes everything - yes, even paper)
They shipped fast and everything was packaged nice and secure.
I will definately be using them again!

Need to Clean out your stash?
If you haven't cleaned out your craft goodies in a while...because you just don't want to throw anything away...check out www.freecycle.org
Some of us don't know anyone to give it to, or we would. If you're like me, I feel guilty throwing ANYTHING out...hence my problem ;-)
I found the www.freecycle.org web site a while back and now I don't feel guilty cleaning out my stuff, because the person getting it usually so grateful! I have also managed to get a new flatbed scanner from the same place - and now I am the grateful one!
Find the chapter in your area (or close to it) and post whatever you no longer need, for someone else to claim. You may even find teachers who would love to be able to have some scrapbook goodies to use in class or for decoration. Either way…it keeps it out of the trash and someone else will get some use out of it. It is not limited to craft items of course…clean out your garage while you’re at it. You might even get a few goodies yourself!
(NOTE: It is proper etiquette to offer something before you start taking things.)
Happy Freecycling!
Kodak Inkjet Photo Paper 50% off and FREE shipping!
Well...*H*E*L*L*O*
I keep finding good deals and want to tell people about them, but you are so limited to what you can post on most sites and forums. I wanted to be able to post any link to any site or photo.
I am a crafter, mostly a paper crafter. If it can be made with paper, I want to know about it. I am just getting into digital scrapping and it's addicting. I can’t wait to be able to make my own kits!
I love vintage and new. I like shabby and grunge, but not cutesy. All colors are fair game. I get bored easy and find new interests and techniques all of the time. Some of my constant interests include:
Photography
Altered Books
Collage
Book Making
Paper Making
Paper Collecting
Rubber Stamping
Metalsmithing
Jewelry Making
Scrapbooking (paper and digi)
Travel (although I don’t get to do as much as I'd like)
Garage/Estate Sales, Flea Marketing and Antique shows
And … the antics of my kitties.
Feel free to leave a comment…especially if you know about a good deal!
